WhatsApp to stop working on these 43 phones from November

The popular messaging app, WhatsApp has announced that it will stop supporting some bunch of iPhones and Android devices. The company has shared a list of devices that will no longer support the WhatsApp messaging app and will not be compatible with it starting from November 1, 2021.
Generally, all Android phones that are running on KaiOS 2.5.1 or its older versions, Android 4.0.3 or older version, and Apple iPhones that are running on iOS 9 or older versions will not be compatible with WhatsApp starting from the announced date.
If your device with being affected, you’ll need to upgrade to a newer model of phone that has an operating system the company supports, this is the only way you can ensure that you will continue to message on the app.

However, the company has added a new option for users to easily migrate their chats when switching from iOS to Samsung Android devices, a feature that is referred to as the most requested features

Before this development, iOS chat histories are been stored in iCloud, while chats on Android are been stored on Google Drive, making it nearly impossible to transfer chats between phones that use different operating systems.
The new feature introduced by WhatsApp include voice messages, photos, and videos, but call history and display name were not added.
WhatsApp said in a statement: “To start, this feature is available on any Samsung device running Android 10 or higher, and will be available on more Android devices soon,”
The statement read further: “We look forward to making this option available for more people to switch between platforms of their choice and securely take their chats with them.”

The list of the smartphones that will not be supported as released by WhatsApp includes:

Apple

iPhone SE (first generation), iPhone 6s, and iPhone 6s Plus will all not be compatible with WhatsApp if not updated from iOS 10.

Samsung

The Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite, Galaxy Trend II, Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 mini, Galaxy Xcover 2, Galaxy Core and Galaxy Ace 2.

LG

The LG Lucid 2, Optimus F7, Optimus F5, Optimus L3 II Dual, Optimus F5, Optimus L5, Optimus L5 II, Optimus L5 Dual, Optimus L3 II, Optimus L7, Optimus L7 II Dual, Optimus L7 II, Optimus F6, Enact, Optimus L4 II Dual, Optimus F3, Optimus L4 II, Optimus L2 II, Optimus Nitro HD and 4X HD, and Optimus F3Q.

ZTE

The ZTE Grand S Flex, ZTE V956, Grand X Quad V987 and Grand Memo.

Huawei

The Huawei Ascend G740, Ascend Mate, Ascend D Quad XL, Ascend D1 Quad XL, Ascend P1 S and Ascend D2.

Sony

The Sony Xperia Miro, Sony Xperia Neo L, and Xperia Arc S.

Other phones

The Alcatel One Touch Evo 7, Archos 53 Platinum, HTC Desire 500, Caterpillar Cat B15, Wiko Cink Five, Wiko Darknight, Lenovo A820, UMi X2, Faea F1, and THL W8.
